Education for Sustainability
GreenKiwi is an education for sustainability (EfS) programme for schools.
We provide excellent, practical resources to help teachers and students discover sustainability. Our material provides effective, student-centered instruction that is assessment friendly, curriculum based, multi-disciplinary, inter-disciplinary and fun.
GreenKiwi resources are free for any New Zealand teacher who registers to use them.
Within the planned GreenKiwi programme there are a number of initiatives:
Courses Courses are built around frameworks that contextualise a range of learning objectives in exciting and relevant ways.
Resources The courses will be supported by excellent background information, activity ideas and assessment tools.
Wiki A wiki is being developed so that teachers and students can share their knowledge and discoveries and help each other.

A voyage of discovery on Spaceship Earth
Spaceship Earth is an exciting new course that teaches existing curriculum within an education for sustainability framework. Key sustainability concepts are presented in an interpretive context that will engage and fascinate students.
Imagine a course that:
- teaches achievement objectives from the new curriculum – levels 3 and 4
- uses an Education for Sustainability framework
- is engaging and exciting for students
- is written for New Zealanders
- enhances student's core competencies
- comes with a comprehensive, all-in-one teachers guide including:
– Background information – Class activities – inquiries, experiments, projects, readings, homework – Curriculum links – new curriculum – Assessment criteria - has been written and reviewed by experts
- is Free for all New Zealand teachers!
